Pluto Retrograde 2010
APRIL 6 through SEPTEMBER 13 2010
In the natal chart, Pluto tends to operate even more Plutonian when it is retrograde. It is far more intense, it possesses a higher degree of concentration and it, therefore, gives greater insights into the subconscious. Because of this intensity, the individual can see much more than normally possible and it is easy to become suspicious of the motives of others. The powers of regeneration are far greater when retrograde. People with a natal retrograde Pluto have a tremendous ability to overcome major illnesses that might otherwise cause permanent disability. Remember, retrograde motion is always directed toward inner activity such as the psyche or psychological patterns that affect the physical body. Direct motion, on the other hand, is directed towards external circumstances.
Under any Pluto transit, we feel pressured to eliminate and release the old, outworn, outdated and obsolete in our lives. When Pluto is transiting retrograde, we are urged to let go of attitudes, thinking or communication patterns, security drives, rigid emotions; a time to undergo an internal form of house cleaning. It is a good time to research into our own Souls in order to determine exactly what we do or do not need. Because Pluto retrograde imparts an intense power for investigation, we should use this time to assess what reoccurring patterns in our lives make us feel out of control, where and why do we continually give our power away, and under what circumstances do we react so defensively that we elicit attacks from others. Pluto retrograde marks a time wherein we should seek to gain greater control over our personal life; Pluto direct is better for gaining control over professional and financial areas. My most frequent observation of Pluto retrograde is that many people do seek some form of regenerative activity. I have seen people undertake a series of internal cleansings, detoxifying diets, Eastern disciplines that put them in touch with the inner self and even intense psychological reforms.
CRITICAL DATES:
PLUTO-SATURN: AUGUST 12-22 – Crises through excessive demands and responsibility
PLUTO-JUPITER: JULY 8 through AUGUST 7 – Caution against over-reacting and over-reaching boundaries
PLUTO-MARS: AUGUST 3-4 – Pluto- Mars be intense and even obsessive mentally. When afflicted, we are urged to resist external pressure, control or manipulation by others. Do not act under pressure.
PLUTO-VENUS: MAY 23 – This indicates a need to change attitudes in relating. Money and relating can become complicated.
PLUTO-MERCURY: JUNE 27 – Do not say something you will regret.

I’ve natal Pluto rx in my 12th, actually all of the outer planets are rx in my chart. Natal Pluto is sextile Neptune rx in the 2nd, both inconjunct my 7th house Sun. Yup…the YOD formation, tightly orbed. Saturn rx in the 1st opp my Sun, of course, forms a Boomerang.
Your explanation of n Pluto rx is on target for me, friends often comment on my perceptions of others being on target, giving them a very different view than their own. Regeneration as well…I do tend to bounce back..no matter what!
Thanks for your insightful article.

Hello Sandra – If you click on GENERAL ASTROLOGY and scroll down, there is an entire article on Natal Retrograde Planets in the horoscope. I wrote this for a conference in Italy.
Having Pluto in my 12th House, I like this position as it has been very helpful with my astrological research. Retrograde is even better for the psychological observations.
That Sun as Apex of a Yod, especially in the 7th House, favors any type of counseling or consulting work, especially where you are showing the purpose and direction in the life of others.
Thank you for writing, Sandra…Lynn

Hi Lynn,
I have retrograde pluto transiting my sun (conjunction) for the 2nd time (29.59 sag) in my 9th house, with natal pluto in the 6th and leo in the 5th (venus in scorpio, 7th if it’s of any use). I feel this transit affects mostly my close relationships, resulting usually in painful separations (and lots of arguments before them) or in thoughts of separating. I was wondering if the 3rd time would be any easier…?
thanks for the article!

This is actually a very good question —
First, I hope that my booklet on Beginning and Ending (by degree) planets will be ready this summer. Your Sun is an Ending Planet at 29 degrees. As Pluto corsses it, you are in the process of shutting the door to some aspect of your past, your identity, so that you can move forward in a new direction. Indeed, the last crossing can be uneventful if you have already made these changes. If not, if there is something else that you have outgrown, this too will end in November. When the Sun is an Ending Planet, you stay with something until there is nothing left to learn from the situation…then you shut the door.
May 20, 04:15 AM
Many thanks for the reply! :D let us hope that I am a fast learner :) I’m looking forward to your book!
Just for the record, I do shut the door quite easily when there is nothing left to learn from any situation…
many thanks again!

Hi, my Mars is natally at 0* Aries in the 7th house. Pluto is making its 2nd square to my Mars and I believe there are 3 more to follow! When it first ingressed, my boyfriend’s worser qualities came out. During this retrograde period, I broke up with him for good. He will no longer be in the picture. My question regards my job. I was recently employed (during the Pluto retrograde), and this is my first REAL job. My bosses are on a power trip and refuse to take responsibility for any of their own actions. They are very eager to put as much blame on me as possible, and the criticisms are now daily or sometimes twice daily. They aren’t supplying me with adequate training but refuse to accept any responsibility for their own actions, they call it “babysitting”. Granted, I am only 19 years old and I do understand that these people aren’t around to baby me. It’s getting unbarable, intolerable and stressful to the Nth degree. I’m quite ready to quit this job. At this same time, transiting Saturn is making an exact square to my natal Jupiter (which rules my 3rd and 6th houses and is located in my 9th house). My natal Pluto is in Scorpio in the 2nd house conjunct my Sun, Moon, and Mercury.
Please offer me your feedback on this matter.

While I will try to give you some answer, I do not give personal readings on this website. I strongly suggest that you contact the NCGR www.geocosmic.org or the AFA
www.astrologers.com They can recommend an astrologer in your area as you really require a more detailed interpretation of your chart.
I will only make comments that will provide a learning experience for other readers.
First, Rebecca has Saturn at 29 degrees. This degree of Saturn has an innate distrust of authority and “the system,” not believing that either can be trusted or will take care of her through life. It is better fulfilled through being self-employed at some point in the life or, at least, having some type of autonomy in the work.
The stellium in Scorpio has a lot of control issues, further encouraging a movement towards self-employment.
Transpluto in Leo squares the Scorpio stellium (read article on Transpluto on this website) so that there is a strong reaction to criticism, feeling that others can never be pleased.
Mars at 0 degrees does not always know how to regulate energies in relationships with others — getting started or taking action like a Bull in a China Shop. If Rebecca was born around November 9 1988, she has a Cardinal T-square with Neptune as the Apex. Bil Tierney wrote an excellent book that discusses this pattern, DYNAMICS OF ASPECT ANALYSIS. I would recommend that any astrologer read this book.
Pluto in Capricorn will actually transit this T-Square for several years. This will be a time when Rebecca learns to empower herself in relationship with others.
Pluto transits are very difficult indeed as one can feel overwhelmed and out of control. BUT, the good news is that much of the influence now involves Mars at O degrees so there is much adaption to a new situation involved here.
Then, both Saturn in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn will favorably aspect her chart…growing personal empowerment.
Any planet in early degrees, such at Mars, has a very difficult time initially adjusting to new situations. Patience is required. Learn not to over-react to feeling criticized. Transpluto over-reacts when this is sensed and this can make life very difficult.
I am going through a Pluto transit to a planet in 0 degrees. It is not easy. Personally, I have been helped by taking a Pluto Essence created by an astrologer near Annapolis MD.
Adam Gainsburg at www.soulsign.com I find that this essence makes me feel empowred, that I can tackle anything, so the transit is easier. There is no “magic bullet” but I do find it helpful. Of course, being a lot older, Pluto transits become easier with age as I naturally have more control and personal power in my life. It was not easy when I was younger.

Hello
This is one of the best articles on retrograding planets I have found on the internet.
My question is whether the type of aspect made makes a difference. For example, Pluto (going through my 4th) will be trining my natal Jupiter in the 12th. Does the fact that this is a trine rather than, say, a square make a difference to the impact of the retrograde motion?
PS. Any chance of an article on retrograding Chiron? It’s conjuncting Mercury in my fifth house and I don’t know what to make of it.
Jun 25, 01:00 PM
You list your natal Retrogrades. I have an article on my website about the natal positions. These are more important. Thank you so much for writing….Lynn
Jun 27, 07:04 AM
I missed your post, Buffy, but you have asked a good question. Do not be concerned with Pluto being retrograde. I would simply look at the transit itself, Pluto trine Jupiter. You do not give the degree – Beginning Planet or Ending Planet – and this is important.
A Beginning Planet (0 degrees) describes are very new situation. An Ending Planet (29 degrees) would bring some matter to a conclusion. Ending Jupiter is excellent for “comparatives.” They see the common thread of truth in all belief systems and philosophies. They have an interest in synchronicities.
Generally, Pluto trine Jupiter in the Water Houses can heal some family situation by psychologically understanding it.
Pluto-Jupiter very generally often describes a situation wherein you feel that you are doing something to improve the quality of life for others…it can be humanitarian in some way. Young people often teach reading to others who cannot read, as an example.

Thank you for answering me so quickly.
My Jupiter is in fact at 0.42 Virgo. I didn’t realise this made such a difference. Is this beginning and ending theme the case for all natal planets?
Jul 3, 09:15 PM
Hi Lynn,
I found your site while researching Pluto in Capricorn and was struck by the clarity of your writing. I have been searching for insights about the planetary energies. A number of people I know, most of whom have no awareness of planetary cycles, have recently commented on the “weird” or “heavy” energy they are feeling.
Specifically for me though, in early 2007 my business was expanding nicely and I was forecasting healthy growth for 2008. However, in September it felt as if the curtain dropped. Between then and May 2008, every one of the projects on the books cancelled or was deferred. What is going on?
Natal Pluto Rx in Leo in the 10th @ 06 degrees 25; Natal Chiron Rx in Virgo in the 11th @ 09 degrees 53; Natal Neptune Rx in Libra in the 11th @ 02 degrees 19.
Aries Sun in the 6th @ 23 degrees 57; Sag Moon in the 2nd @ 26 degrees 28; N Node in Leo in the 9th @ 02 degrees 43; Scorpio rising @ 06 degrees 18.
Many thanks,
Suzanne

BUFFY – Yes, indeed, when planets fall in early and late degrees, this dramatically affects the interpretation.
I have written a Manual on Beginning and Ending Planets but right now it is only available through
sales@a-ctapes.com — a lecture CD and the Manual for $20 plus postage (from Ohio, USA). It will not be until 2009 that I will have this available for purhcase as a PDF file from this website.
SUZANNE – It is almost impossible for me to visualize a chart with just a list of planets. In terms of cycles, September 2007 marked a great shift for everyone as Saturn left the Fire Sign of Leo and entered the Earth Sign of Virgo. What worked in the expansive cycle will not be successful in the contraction cycle, unless it is modified and streamlined.
Pluto crossed your Ending Moon (26 degrees). This is a clear signature of the ending of some approach to your business. This was a time to put a wrap on projects so that you can start with a very new approach with the new cycle.
This does not mean that your business will not be successful but you need to change your approach to something more atuned to the Earth cycle.

Hi Lynn,
With Pluto bouncing up and down on my ascendant like a trampoline over the last week, I started training a tighter eye on the true node of my chart – 26 Sagg. Lo, I discover this degree opens to the Galactic Core.
Many things started making a lot more sense in that moment. Now I’m curious. This morning just after dawn I took a little starwalk, and I think I ‘tasted’ the Pluto station. Am I on or off base? I can’t say it any more clearly than ‘taste’; it was one of those other senses that is a percentage physical as well non. There was a gap in the energy, like an erasure, where Pluto’s swarthy presence had been.
Do you have a time for the Plutonian station – just before it turns to forward motion on Tuesday?
This directional shift —whenever it happened— seems to have impacted my meditative equipoise as well. You’d think I’d be more balanced, but for the last two days when I go to sit, there’s a fair amount of static on the line, accompanied by massive vertigo. Mamma calling?
Thanks for any insight!
M.

Since I do not know anything about your horoscope, I cannot comment. The Pluto Station occurred on September 9 at 3:15 am UT (or 23:15 EDT) at 28 degrees Sagittarius.
Pluto did not conjunct your True Node in 2008 but rather in 2007, if it is at 26 Sagittarius. Any aspect to the Node emphasized the energy of the planet — Pluto is empowerment. I does not matter what the nature of the aspect – good or bad — it works the same.
Sep 6, 08:38 PM
So if I understand you correctly, presently Pluto is only backed up to 28 Sagg, and last year it was directly on my true node. I actually have notes from that period which indicate some of the same phenomenon in 2007, though I didn’t have Pluto’s name in my pocket at the time.
It may be that a couple of degrees is still close enough to feel the burn, so to speak. Especially with the GC involved.
I didn’t want to burden you with a pile of astro-data when I was only interested in the effect of Pluto on the true node and GC.
Thank you for your time!

I do not use separating transits. It just gets too confusing — what is a client feeling? Last year’s transits, this year’s transits and next year’s transits all at the same time?!
BUT, because Pluto is at the end of a sign, this is called the “End of One’s Rope” degrees — people in general feel the intensity of Pluto REGARDLESS of where their natal planets are located. This may be the answer to your question.
On my website, I have a little information on the galactic center in an article on Septiles. A brief section is….
RESEARCH: In the “Journal for Scientific Exploration,” the Spottiswoode research conducted with former government “remote viewers” revealed that there was a 2-hour window of dramatically increased psychic ability when the earth blocked the noise coming from the Galactic Center. To determine this on one’s own, use a Star Finder Dial or visually observe when Orion’s Belt is directly overhead. Since the transiting Septiles facilitate psychic ability, blocking the Galactic Center will give you an extra edge of receptivity.
Frequently, there will be septiles between the Sun-Mercury-Venus and Neptune-Pluto. These will not be so strong due to the frequency in which they occur. As Septiles, they are always useful for multi-dimensional connections and psychic support. Septiles involving the outer planets occur less frequently and, therefore, are more significant as they last for longer periods.
There are not many strong Septile Clusters through December 2006. The last strong cluster occurred on November 30 2005. When an outer planet is involved, it has a stronger influence but it needs Septile Clusters from the inner planets to be truly powerful. The last such important clustering occurred on March 21-22 2002.
I am not going to analyze each aspect as I have done in the past but rather give the series of Septile Clusters.
In 2007, there are many dates in which Septiles occur. I have only listed the strongest clusters for this e-mail post. I am personally trying to work with Septile dates for manifesting ghosts. Since Blaschke feels that this is a “Suspension” aspect, it can lift the veil between the seen and the unseen.
Your personal observations would be appreciated. With psychic work, look for the time when Orion is overhead. Noise from the Galactic Center will be blocked and reception will be improved.

Dear Lynn,
My birthdate is 14 April 1954 at 12:53 am in Providence RI. I’ve often been obsessive and impulsive and have made some disasterous choices over the years. I’m still trying to adjust to my husband’s unexpected death on 17 March 2006, and to find some purpose to my life. I see that transitting Pluto has passed over the fixed star of widowhood (28 or 29 Sag?) in these years, and is transitting my Mars (0 Cap). What next? Any ideas?
With gratitude for any and all advice,
Sarah
Nov 22, 03:54 AM
Sarah, I do not give personal readings on my website but I do answer questions pertaining to my articles.
I can tell you that the Fixed Star of Widowhood is Vindemiatrix at 9 Libra. Pluto is transiting your Mars at 0 Capricorn in 2008 and then Mercury at 1 Aries in 2009. The 2nd year is usually much easier, especially since you will experience favorable Neptune transits.
Pluto will transit Retrograde starting in April 2009. This will be a good time to work on the issues that I addressed in this article. I have posted about aspects to Beginning Planets in previous comments — difficulty adjusting to something new. For many, the NEW is our current economic situations. We are all having to make changes in our patterns.
You have abilities in some “healing” area. With Pluto activating the Grand Earth Trine, you might look into this.

“In terms of cycles, September 2007 marked a great shift for everyone as Saturn left the Fire Sign of Leo and entered the Earth Sign of Virgo. What worked in the expansive cycle will not be successful in the contraction cycle, unless it is modified and streamlined.”
I am new to your web site and your methods, but your statement above put everything that I have witnessed in the past year into new light.
I know nothing about the cycles of the planets and only know my sun sign and my rising sign, along with those of my family and friends.
So, I am very uneducated about this subject. I’ve tried to read about astrology but it all becomes very confusing and I lose most of what I read.
A long time friend who was having much pain and trouble with his health, ended his life on Oct. 4, ’07. He was a Virgo. It was sort of strange he chose to do this because a lot of things he had been trying to accomplish had recently became reality. Although he was in very bad health with congestive heart failure, I thought he would stick it out longer than he did. But he seemed to resign himself to the fact that if he didn’t end things his way, he’d be kept alive against his will, in a home, bed ridden. He was on Morphine and an alcoholic.
His BD was Sept. 7, ’47.
Then, at the end of Dec. ’07, my son decided to leave his relationship of 13 years, over an argument with his wife, concerning the behavior of his 15 year old step daughter. He moved out of the home he shared with her, in very short order and had a lease on an apartment by Jan. 1, ’08. This was not his plan just days earlier, when he and I spoke of this problem with his daughter, and he was hopeful of the future in regards to this situation. My son is also a Virgo, born Aug. 25, ’65.
I have also lost two cats that were 14 and 15 years old. One in June ’07 and the other in Jan. ’09. The lost has been very painful, as they were my constant companions. I am retired and have been for as long as I had them.
Should this point to something for me to learn about astrology or am I drawing conclusions with no foundations? Any thoughts you have would be deeply appreciated.
Thank You….
April

April – the horoscopes of each individual would have to be examined, as well as your own.
Strong outer planet transits are always involved with such events, not just cycles. Planets changing signs, as Pluto did this year, do trigger endings and beginnings.
A lengthy investigation of your own chart would provide the clues as to what your lessons are in relation to all that has happened.
Issues of the Heart Chakra seem to be involved. This chakra is opened through pain/loss, love and selfless service to others. But, as I have experienced myself, it more often occurs through pain and loss. This is a difficult path on planet Earth.

I wonder how Venus in retrograde square Pluto would affect someone with Venus in Scorpio conjuct Pluto in Scorpio on the 8th house (with Libra on the cusp ruled by Venus which is also on the 8th house) in their Natal Chart?
These days I feel as if I have to thrive in intensity in order to feel alive. I cant be anything less than passionate that I now consider myself afflicted by passion instead of gifted with it. Relating with other people and seeing things from their perspective is very important to me. Penetrating their thoughts gives me satisfaction, purpose and power. I find vulnerability so very endearing. I can only feel closeness within the depths of emotions. Anything less, drives me to want to possess. Complete trust cradles me.
Last night, my affliction has gotten worse. Im no longer satisfied in penetrating the mind alone. I have to get to the very core to feel the beauty of life that resides within each person. Within me, I can only feel an excess of energy. There has only been a few times in my life have I felt completeness.
Apr 4, 06:57 AM
I have pluto at 26 degrees of the Third House.
Does today begin the first Pluto Rx since it has gone fully into capricorn?
I feel like i have been bulldozed since it went direct in September, and really need this regeneration period.
How will this Rx affect us with Pluto being in Capricorn?
Apr 4, 10:05 AM
RAF – With so much Scorpio/Pluto, you lack the objectivity and awareness of how other people feel about your feelings.
You can attract the (objective) AIR sign element into your chart but talking with other people about your feelings and truly listening to what they say. Keeping everything inside is terrible for Scorpio/Pluto…it only becomes more intense and less controllable, like a beach ball being pushed below the surface of the water. You can only contain it for so long. You need to talk with friends about these feelings and gain some objectivity.
RICH – It is impossible for me to know what is going on in your chart, except that you have Pluto in the 3rd House at 26 degrees (of some sign, unknown).
Yes, this is the first retrograde since Pluto fully entered Capricorn. At this point, I cannot say how Capricorn R will be different from Sagittarius R. I only do this through observation but my article interpretation of Pluto R will hold for any sign…it is more internal while D moves us through external forces.
Apr 23, 05:31 PM
Hello, Lynn!
I have read your article about Pluto and its retrograde period.
I find it pretty accurate, and, to be honest, somewhat challenging, because I have been experiencing its effects for some time now.
I wanted to share that I have never feared death before.
I am only 18 and my thoughts are generally positive.
Anyways, some days ago there were many deaths of young people in my country, due to car accidents mostly.
That;s when I started focusing more on the subject of death than usual. I am a very thoughtful character but I have never related such deaths to my own… I have always felt that I will die in my old age :) But now… because of Pluto, I assume, my thoughts are worrying me. I am daily thinking about how I don’t want to die young! And it’s becoming some kind of a fear… :/
I just wanted to ask you if that;s really a period…
Because I am not that kind of person who focuses on death. I have always had a wiser acceptance of it… but now it is shaken :(
I will be grateful for a reply!
Greetings,
Adi
Apr 23, 06:08 PM
Since I have no idea what is going on in your chart, I will have to guess the possibilities that could stmulate fears.
Planets transiting or progressing through the 12th House can do this, especially Saturn. The 12th House is a time for letting go of the old self and this can create fears of the unknown. The minor afflictions from a transiting Pluto might do this as well.
Death thoughts often occur when a part of ourselves is dying but this is usually a good thing…we just do not know it yet because the new has not happened.
Apr 23, 06:33 PM
Yes, i think outer planets through the 12th house can do this. Neptune just entered my natal 12th and noticed myself having more nightmares and weird dreams. Change of thoughts too. But I wasn’t sure that all these planets transiting my 12th (because Uranus in transiting my 12th also) were activating these thoughts or Pluto on my midheaven. I think its a little bit of both.
Apr 24, 12:50 AM
Lynn, thank you for your comment.
I know that you don’t do personal readings but I will provide you with my data so that you can see the transits… because I am unable to do so for the moment!
Thank you.
Maybe this will help more with the explanation.

Danine – Yes, I know this from experience about the 12th House. When Saturn and the progressed Moon entered this House, I was fearful and anxious without knowing why. The Progressed Mercury square natal Mercury caused anxiety over an error in judgment. Uranus aspecting the 12th can cause sleeplessness.
Adi – Progressed Venus, ruling the 12th cusp, crossing Neptune in the 8th (a psychically sensitive House) and Pluto crossing Mercury while 150 Mars in the 12th. In early degrees, there can be anxiety over an impending change, about which you may not be aware of at this time.
Apr 24, 06:51 AM
Thank you very much, Lynn!
Actually, there are University exams that are about to come for me… and if I am admitted in the place I want to study, that will mean a change in the surroundings because it will be another town :)
Maybe that is the change…
And the independence that derives from it…
By the way, I want to study Psychology and it is a big dream of mine. I think I do have the astro aspects for that, what do you think?
Thanks again.
PS: It is so nice to write and read in here!
Apr 29, 01:33 PM
Pluto was recently conjunct my Ascendant. Now, due to it’s retrograde motion, it will be crossing my ascendant again, and eventually again.
This is a very dynamic time in my life. In many ways I feel I am not the same person I was just a year ago- for instance my style of dress and the way I carry myself has changed incredibly (I am much more feminine than I have ever been before). A lot of what I have read about Pluto conjunct asc. is not necessarily positive yet if the changes in my life recently are any indication of what’s to come I am pretty excited.
What do you think?
Apr 29, 01:57 PM
It does not matter when Pluto is R or not, crossing the ASC can be very empowering for most people. After years of being in the 12th House, a time to observe people in power, abuses in power and simply observing, Pluto on the ASC empowers you.
Of course, there may be a few people who are afraid to be empowered and then they could have problems but, by and large, this is a very good aspect and it lasts for a very long time. See where Pluto is natally to find from where many of the changes are coming.
May 1, 12:29 AM
You point out a part of astrological interpretation that I have a hard time grasping.
My natal Pluto is 4 degrees Libra in the 9th house- so could I say these changes would be social, relational, and in my personal tastes and preferences (Libra) and/or in faith, philosophy, ethics (9th house/Sagittarius)?
Are the sign and house placement of the planet given equal consideration, or is one more important than the other.
Reflecting on the past several months I can say I have felt more empowered socially and at work. I also find that I am trusting my instincts rather than looking for constant approval.
May 1, 04:15 AM
Pluto itself is the most important consideration when it crosses the ASC – empowering and transformative. The House position is a subsidiary influence, then the sign.
Pluto will be in your 1st House for a long time and it should bring 9th House type changes – education, travel, learning and consciousness expanding experiences, meeting and communication with people from distant places, a spiritual transformation and a transformation in how you view the world, political views as well.
Pluto in Libra does have an influence, as you say, changing socially and seeking answers from within, not through others. So, this colors Pluto issues as well.
Jun 1, 05:14 PM
Hi Lynn,
I am Sun Sign Capricorn and have retrograde Pluto in the 1st house in Virgo. (opposite Moon)
Reading your description of the transiting retrograde Pluto made me very emotional. I actually had to step away from my computer. Anyway, while I definitely relate to the powers of insight to others with this placement; I’ve felt powerless, and fearful for many many years in my personal relationships and my career has just been a series of ill fitting jobs that have dried up.
There is a high degree of pain an angst in the air, as our current systems fail, although I have to say for all my trying I spent 25+ years failing miserably at fitting into the old systems
It seems that there are powerful days ahead, anything you can share concerning my natal placement and Pluto in Capricorn would be gratefully received.
Jun 15, 02:19 PM
You mention that you have Pluto in your 12th house. I do as well. (10/14/42, 2:40 am, Dallas, Texas). I have an 18 degree Leo ascendant and Pluto at 7degrees of Leo in the 12th. I am interested in your opinion of this Pluto placement.
For me, it has come to represent such loneliness, pain and suffering in terms of being misunderstood and disliked on sight (I am a very social, friendly Libra!) that I am planning to move to the east coast, which gives me Pluto as well as my 12th house Jupiter in the 11th house. What is your opinion of relocated charts? I have lived in a number of different countries in the world and find that my relocated chart for that particular location is always accurate.
I love the WEST but when I lived there, I actually had Pluto even closer to the Ascendant and was incredibly isolated and alone, and found that people just didn’t like me, to my absolute mystification. I would love to go back, as I love that area more than any other, but I am in horror of the aloneness it involves.
Every text I read says that people with Pluto in the 12th are “very hard to stand.” What is your experience of Pluto in the 12th?
Jun 16, 08:10 AM
I am writing a series of manuals that will eventually be sold on this website. This is part of the 12th House Pluto article….
12th HOUSE PLUTO:
With Pluto in the 12th House, a parent did not want you to be more powerful than they were – and often that parent had an internal sense of powerlessness. The individual learned to suppress their power and to give in to the power of that parent.
Being powerful was deemed intolerable by a parent so that the individual learned not to come on strong. If the person did not have the potential to be very powerful, it would not need to be repressed.
The parental message was: Do not be more powerful than I am. This made the parent controlling and overwhelming. The 12th House Pluto has issues or fears about being powerless or out of control.
NOTE: I have Pluto in the 12th. I believe that my mother was my daughter in the last lifetime. She did not want me to assume my former power in our current relationship…because I do not think she wanted me to abandon her again.
There is a fear of being vulnerable, especially to the power of others or more powerful people.
There are difficulties dealing with powerful or controlling people.
They are sensitive to manipulative people. This gives them great internal insight into the motives of others. Since “survival” within the family and dealing with the power parent was dependent upon picking up subtle cues from that parent, the individual cultivates great psychological insights.
Profiling becomes natural, especially for those issues from the childhood.
NOTE: I only have specific insights, not complete insight. People who “lie like a Gemini” I just never get it. My mother never told the truth and you would think that I would be more perceptive…but I believe what others say….most of the time. It seems that when it comes to astrology and New Age activities I always know when someone is phoney. As a child, I knew how adults would react. I knew how to behave so that I would not get in trouble. Situation at the pool example. As an adult, possibly because my life is good, I have lost the need to be so aware of the motives of others. See the next statements.
The individual learned to be manipulative very early because they were dealing with manipulative people. They are very aware of the strengths and weaknesses of others.
✭ I personally only find that this works when someone could hurt me or the people whom I care about. I can see through people who are fakes, who use people through a spirituality “con,” and spirituality cons. This only works when people I care about are threatened in some way.
EXAMPLES:
• My parents would force or trick her into doing things, never straightforward. This is part of being raised by manipulative people
• My own mother would tell me that we were going to get ice cream and then take me to the doctor for a shot (although we did get ice cream afterwards). I later healed the relationship with the doctor whom I came to fear.
• As a child, I could not make choices for myself. With Mercury-Pluto, my mother would put words into my mouth and make decisions for me (and my father). This affected my ability to make decisions and choices for myself.
• I fear situations in which I am powerless, controlled and manipulated. I fear being sued in court – for me, the ultimate powerlessness.
• Transits from Pluto can be difficult – am I powerless or do I have control. When Pluto squared my Sun-Juno, a Juno individual made my life hell. Since I had never scored a victory, I could not score a victory with this person who had been like a mother to me.
• Since I was not taught how to be in control of my life, I felt empowered by astrology. This was my substitute parent!
This is an excellent position for a therapist, healer, counselor or profiler. They possess insightful skills into the psychological behavior of other people. Being able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of others can be helpful in matters of business.
They are excellent researchers, in all areas. Because they know how to keep some things hidden, they can succeed in undercover work or covert activities.
Their insights are so keen and perceptive that they can range from insightful to paranoid!

Hi Lynn,
I am a “freshman” in this area of astrology…my interests in it are of a very recent origins. But this transit of Pluto maybe, I think, set me to this interest…I was born in the sign of Scorpio…ascedent Scorpio…and the Pluto in the 12th house in the natal chart. Since my birth, Pluto transited my 12th, 1st and 2nd house (with all the planets, except Jupiter and Saturn in this houses). Natal chart aspect of Pluto-Moon square (Moon in the third house in Capricorn). Now this retrograde Pluto is transiting over my third house…Could you help me with few insights on how is this affecting me? Not to repeat that I have a very manipulative mother who acts as a guardian of my brother and puts me in a whole lot of situations where I am to act as her substitute of a mother/protective figure for him even though he is some years older than me…
Thanks in advance,
anazapta

Hi Lynn,
I have Pluto transiting my MidHeaven. (MidHeaven=2d Capricorn). Nataly, it is retrograde in the 6th (27d). I am an Aries rising with a Cap Moon and Aquarius Sun.
I thought that Pluto transiting the MH would mean that I would get a big promotion. It just so happens that my company in is the midst of promoting many people around me into higher positions. My own relationship with the company is very good but I am beginning to wonder if it is as spectacular as it had always been. Over the last 3 years, I have had several nods and move ups. Now I feel at a pause. I do very good work and am often complimented by higher ups and co-workers but no one has mentioned a promotion for me. I know that the other definition of Pluto MH transit is a departure from the job. I can’t imagine that that’s in my near future. Maybe I’m wrong. I first spotted this coming transit when I learned astrology 5 years ago and waited for this time to come. As I got closer, say last year, I thought that this time would inevitably bring a rise for me since I had received a 4th promotion at that time and felt like the sky was the limit. Now, I’m confused and trying to not give way to heavy insecurity.
I’m also trying to not want the promotion for the sake of it. After all, I enjoy the work I’m currently doing immensely. :D
Would you mind giving me your $ .02 on this?
Thanks, Jane

Hi Lynn,
I would be very interested to know if you could shed some light on what I think might be a plutonian influence in my dreams. I have Pluto in my 12th house direct (18m 26’16 not sure what this means). I also have Uranus direct in 12th as well.
I am a vivid dreamer but for many years I have the most unspeakable dreams of a death. The person who is dead is usualy a family member, but not necessarily. It almost does not matter because in these dreams, I am besett by so much greaf that I almost cease to exist. It is hard to expain, but the greaf is so intense that it threatens my entire mental state and disinterates the meaning of my existence and personality.
Im not prone to emotional health problems and neither do I have a conscious pre-occupation with death. So far, In life I have been protected by this also. However, I have often woken exhaused and wondering how Im still alife myself!
Since Ive become more involved with reading about astrology, Im thinking if these dreams (especially being dreams) have a plutonian essence about lossing control, death and an an mentionable void. I would very much value your views if such dreams are relevant in this respect. Many thanks Molly,

Dear Lynn,
I have my Sun at 0 Capricorn in my thrid house, and Pluto stationary ® in my Virgo 12th house. Pluto is also conjunct my Mars and Uranus in the 12th. Transit Saturn has been going through my 12th house and is heading for my ascendant.
In the sidereal/Vedic chart, Saturn is going over my moon in a 7 1/2 year cycle which ends right around when Pluto Stations in September.
I feel things shifting a bit but I am running on fumes after the last few years. I know Pluto will technically be conjunct my sun for many years to come, but I am hoping the most traumatic upheavals are done and I can begin to heal from everything being turned upside down.
I would be happy to send more information if there is some crucial factor I have not described here. I would greatly appreciate any insights or encouragement you can offer!
Best Regards, and thanks for your website!

Hello, Lynn! A couple of months ago I wrote to you about my problem with fear of dying young.
After your response, some days later, this was gone. I had no problem with that.
Unfortunately this anxiety over the same issue has returned this week. I don’t know why. it just came back.
Can you tell me if there’s something related to my planets… and chart?

Thank you sincerely.

Anxiety can be triggered by inconjuncts – Pluto is crossing your Mercury 150 to Mars in the 12th. I discussed the 12th House earlier.
The specific planets that you have in your 8th House are very sensitive to anything beyond your control and all unseen realities. Your progressed Venus is crossing your progressed Neptune at this time.

Thank you very much, Lynn, you are of a big help to me!
